Discover the difference, discover Corfu : the island where the past blends with the present, and the present reveals the past – a place to see, feel, experience and enjoy. The perfect setting for memorable holidays, unique tours, and truly rewarding incentive experiences.
Our base of operations, the beautiful island of Corfu, or “Kerkyra” in Greek, lies on the north-western coast of Greece, washed by the waters of the Adriatic in the west and the Ionian Sea in the east.
Known as the ”Lady of the Ionian” thanks to its celebrated past, cosmopolitan character and unique natural beauty, Corfu island ranks amongst Greece’s most popular tourist destinations. Also known as the “Emerald Island”, being the most verdant in Greece.
The island’s countryside is a marvel of wild dense flora and dramatic landscapes; a palette of dense forests of pine & cypress trees, ageless olive groves, endless green fields, long sandy beaches, picturesque white-pebbled bays, turquoise waters washing the shores, old castles, historical palaces, deserted stone-built Byzantine villages.
Corfu is not a typical Hellenic island; its commanding position as the gateway of Greece at the crossroads of East and West, has dictated its past; a series of civilisations laying claims on it over the years have left their marks on the local architecture, culture and traditions.
The capital, the historical town of Corfu (UNESCO World Heritage), is the island’ gemstone; originally built by the Venetians in the 14th century, it is wedged between the two old Venetian fortresses, occupying a peninsula on the eastern coast of the island. A maze of narrow cobbled streets ‘kandounia’ and high tenements built of stone and wood painted in mellow pastel colours; the town of Kerkyra is more reminiscent of Naples’ architecture rather than that of a typical Greek city.
The island is a treasure trove of archaeological, historical and cultural riches, long lasting traditions and customs reminiscent of life in another century, outstanding natural beauty and friendly locals with a genuine sense of “Philoxenia” (hospitality in Greek).
The island offers extensive quality accommodation facilities to cater for all tastes, requirements and budgets, as well as a wide choice of activities to suit all interests; from mountain biking, walking, diving & snorkelling, and horse-riding, to significant historical & religious sites and monuments.
